Club Activities
Monthly general meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month except for July and August. These meetings are open to the public! We also organize an impressive number of other activities such as educational seminars, public outreach events, as well as group observing sessions throughout the year.

GO / NO-GO Announcements
Our club has received a LX200 8" from an anonymous donor!
We've all heard the "baby in a basket" story. Well, one of our members (Bert) visited the observatory a few weeks ago and found a LX200 telescope in the driveway. It had a note saying that it was being donated.
The hand controller needs some work but the optics are in pristine condition.
Thank You Anonymous!
But the weather can change rapidly so we'll hold off making an announcement until 2 hours before the scheduled start time.
If you are unable to get to the internet to see the announcement consider checking the Clear Sky Clock earlier in the day as an indication of what the sky conditions are forcast to be. The Clear Sky Clock is a special wether forecast that predicts Cloud Cover and general observing conditions. The prediction is usually updated twice daily at 3 AM and 1:30 PM (give or take an hour).
The actual announcement is made on the 2 social media websites operated by RASC Hamilton. 1) Yahoo Group (login required) Check Postings (messages) and the Calendar
2) Facebook (reccommended for the general public)
